Karen Martin M.S. CCC-SLP
Karen is the owner and speech therapist at PAL Speech Therapy.
She graduated with a masters degree in speech language pathology from CSU, East Bay in 2018. Before then, she received a bachelors in liberal studies from CSU, Chico, and graduated with a teaching credential in 2009. She has worked both in homes, schools, and clinics with those age 1-80+. She has specialized training and experience working with Alternative and Augmentative Communication, Feeding, Autism, and Early Intervention.
Karen enjoys helping people meet their goals and communicate more effectively. She believes in strengths-based and person centered therapy which encourages her clients to advocate for their needs. With children, she takes a play based approach, following their lead and helping show them how to communicate their ideas to others. With youth and adults, she uses their interests, finds out what they see as important communication goals, and help them make growth.
Karen was born and raised in Shasta County. In the summer when she’s not avoiding the heat indoors, you can find her camping, paddle boarding, or hiking to a nearby waterfall. In the winter she ski’s on Mt. Shasta. She also enjoys watching movies, playing board games, and spending time with her niece and nephew.
